Collaborating Experimenting & Learning
Design is the intersection of functional problem solving and artistic sensibility.
Welcome! DesignIsMyThing™ (DIMT) has been created to promote the role of design in business and social enterprise. Through independent projects and collaborations we advocate design as a strategy for tackling the world’s “wicked problems” as well as creating breakthrough products and services.
Our projects are meant to energize the design community with new and exciting ways to get involved. Some projects are experimental, aimed at testing new concepts, while others are ongoing initiatives to further the integration of design.
We recently wrapped up our first project which featured interviews with 150 designers. Now we’re on to our second, an initiative to use poster design as a force for good within a local children’s home. We’re partnering with the The Home for Little Wanderers to give design a new outlet for affecting change.
DIMT is driven by Jason Stevens, a design engineer and Board Secretary of AIGA Boston. Jason started out as a happy-go-lucky CAD drafter in the architectural design services. Almost immediately, a deep interest emerged for a more holistic approach to design that has since become an outlet for creative exploration. This interest has now materialized into DIMT which serves as a platform for working with great people, making great friends, and proving that design should be a continuous process of collaborating, experimenting and learning.
